RCISD School Calendar 2022-2023
Royse City Independent School District (RCISD) is a public school district located in Royse City, Texas, United States. RCISD has two campuses – one in Royse City and the other in neighboring of Shiner. The district has approximately 1,900 students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve.
The Royse City Independent School District was founded in 1907 by a group of citizens who wished to provide an education for their children. The first building erected to house RICSD students was a one-room school located on Main Street. In 1915, the first high school facility opened on Anderson Street and in 1923, the current high school building opened on Highway 6. In 1957, RICSD became an accredited independent school district with a four-year degree program.
The district offers a variety of courses and programs to meet the needs of its students. The school year is divided into three semesters; each semester has eight weeks. Each week of the school year runs from Monday through Friday. There are no weekends in the school year. RCISD strives to provide an environment that encourages students to be their best selves and reach their full potential.

Royse City Independent School District Holidays 2022-2023
This year, the Royse City Independent School District celebrates the holidays with a variety of events. The district has scheduled a parade on December 3rd, a tree lighting ceremony on December 10th, and a holiday concert on December 17th. Christmas Eve will be celebrated with a bowling party at the recreation center from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. On Christmas Day, there will be services at both churches in town before everyone opens their presents. The district also has planned several special events for students during the week of Christmas break.
